Wat kan je van de wolken en de zon leren?

What can you learn from the clouds and the sun?

Thick clouds float overhead. Unfortunately, there is also an occasional shower. And even though I'm not a fan of rain, I still have a smile on my face. Because the way the sun plays with the clouds is my inspiration for the studio light setup at the XPlode color powder photography course.

Many people think that nature and studio photography have nothing to do with each other, but the opposite is true. To make studio photos look natural, we have to imitate nature.

This is also the case with the XPlode color powder shoot. We then let the light play with the clouds of color, creating a beautiful depth in the powder explosion.

In the clouds I see that depth is created with the light diagonally behind. A rim light that highlights the edges of the clouds and creates enough shadow to give depth.

Many photographers see shadows as an enemy, but I embrace them and use them as 3D enhancers.

Not only with color powder shoots, but with many types of photography such as bridal shoots on the beach, fashion portraits outside or dancers in action in the studio.

My mind flashes back to the powder shoots. The explosion of color and light. And the smile on the face of all photographers. Because who wouldn't want to take such a spectacular photo?
